Complex metal shapes that are expensive to hog from billet. Machined on datums after cast.
Die casting
Aluminum and zinc for housings and brackets at volume. Sealing faces and bores machined after cast.
When not to cast
A one-off or a tolerance the tool cannot hold is quoted as CNC instead. That call is in the quote.
