Stock shapes
Plate, rod, tube, and film. Cut blanks for a machine shop, or a finished part if you send the print.
Sheet, rod, tube, and film in industrial, aerospace, and medical-grade families. Cut to the size on the quote, or machined when the print has a feature a saw will not hold. Material callout on your drawing governs. Trade names are not required.
Plate, rod, tube, and film. Cut blanks for a machine shop, or a finished part if you send the print.
Saw and precision cut from sheet and rod. Thickness and blank size confirmed before the cut.
Bushings, insulators, covers, manifolds, and wear parts. Same drawing review as metal: wall, thread, and tolerance called out in the quote.
Cast nylon rod, plate, and tube for wear and structural blanks. Grade confirmed against load and chemical exposure.
Stock and machined parts where weight, dielectric strength, or chemical resistance is the reason for plastic instead of metal.
Resins specified for device work, quoted with the certification the print asks for. Implant grades only when the drawing names them.
| Family | Typical form | Ask for it when |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic | Sheet, rod, tube | Clear covers, windows, guards |
| ABS | Sheet, rod | Housings and prototypes |
| Acetal / POM | Plate, rod, tube | Bushings, gears, low-moisture fits |
| Nylon | Rod, plate, cast shapes | Wear parts and structural blanks |
| HDPE | Sheet, rod, tube | Chemical resistance, impact, liners |
| Polycarbonate | Sheet, rod, tube | Impact-clear guards |
| PTFE | Sheet, rod, film | Chemical resistance and low friction |
| PEEK | Sheet, rod | Heat, strength, aerospace and device parts |
| PEI | Sheet, rod | Heat and dielectric strength |
| PVC and CPVC | Sheet, rod | Chemical and clean-area structures |
Filled grades, static-dissipative sheet, and film are quoted when the print names them. A brand name on a legacy drawing is cross-referenced to a family and confirmed before the order, not listed here.
